Biography
Arash Farahmand (born 2006) is an Iranian composer, classical and flamenco guitarist, pianist, music educator, and researcher. He studied guitar performance and music fundamentals with Kamran Panbehian, and the fundamentals of musical form with Mohammad Reza Tafazoli. He has also participated in online courses and workshops in music theory and formal analysis offered by Yale and Cambridge universities.
Alongside performance and teaching, his work includes composition for piano, guitar, chamber ensembles, and orchestra. His music is grounded in the relationship between structure, narrative, and emotional expression, drawing on tonal, modal, and chromatic harmony, motivic development, and timbral exploration.
Farahmand also studies and researches tuning, acoustics and the physics of sound, interval theory, and other scientific and theoretical foundations of music.
